Content covers topics dedicated to original clinical trials and translational research, reviews, expert perspectives/commentaries, editorials, case reports of rare diseases, innovative treatment of common diseases, and continuing education curriculum, especially for surgeons, to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and in cancer surgery. Specifically, the journal will focus on innovation and practice change in surgical oncology: minimally invasive and robotic surgery, artificial intelligence (VR, AR) in cancer surgery, de-escalation of surgery, improving outcomes by multidisciplinary management, patient reported outcomes and satisfaction. CSO regularly features news and expert interviews to promote expert oncologists' views on surgical oncology guidelines, consensus meetings, education, training and certification. CSO is supporting the idea of cancer surgery to be performed by certified surgical oncologists in accredited cancer surgery units. With this view the journal will be a forum for education and development in all aspects of multidisciplinary cancer management with the priority on surgical oncology.
